Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz who is professionally known by the name Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of Winona Ryder gave her the name of the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz is her father as well as Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's father was born into an ethnically Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. Ryder has two half-siblings younger than her, Jubal and Sunyata. When Ryder was seven, her family relocated into Mendocino County California. In those days, there wasn't electricity. Ryder was a consummate bookworm and would spend her days reading books because she had no television. Ryder aged 12 took up a place at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. In the year she turned 15years old, Ryder was offered her very first role on screen, in Lucas. Ryder faced bullying during her teenage years. Her performing career, she thought to help, could have helped her. However, it didn't happen. However, she continued to pursue her ambitions. She got her break with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder went on to have success in roles. In 1993 Ryder was twice nominated for Academy Awards. One of was for her performance in The Age of Innocence.
